Rallye des Princesses

Contrary to popular belief, automobile racing is not an exclusively masculine pursuit. For over a century, generations of passionate women have challenged this cliché, both on and off the track.

Viviane Zaniroli, who oversees today the rally she created 17 years ago, is one such lady. Welcoming women drivers in their own cars for a 1,600 kilometre sporting event, this beacon of femininity within motorsport follows in the footsteps, or tyre tracks, rather, of Michèle Mouton, Lella Lombardi, Anny-Charlotte Verney and thousands of women drivers.
Combining elegance, glamour and performance in subtle equilibrium, the Rallye des Princesses is a veritable balancing act. Behind the wheel, however, the contestants are single-minded in focus: nothing counts but the clock.

This avant-garde attitude is shared by Richard Mille. The brand, born of its creator’s passion for motor sports and extreme technicality, has been crafting watches for women since 2005. It was thus quite natural that the Maison Richard Mille celebrate women as a partner, for the second year running, of the Rallye des Princesses, the premiere women’s event in automobile racing. For 5 days, all the way from Paris to Saint-Tropez, 80 teams will prioritise consistent performance over speed in an atmosphere that is equal parts sporting and festive.
